Having a massage in your own room can make simple questions feel awkward: where should you change, how much should you talk, and what if you want something to stop? You can settle these directly without a long explanation.
What should you wear?
Ask the provider what the booked service requires. Do not assume that an oil massage and a clothed session use the same arrangement. If you want to keep particular clothing on, say so before the therapist starts.
Try: “I want to stay covered except for the area being worked on. Please explain the draping before we begin.” If the proposed arrangement does not suit you, ask for an alternative or decline the session.
How do you change privately?
Agree where the therapist waits while you change and how you will signal that you are ready. In a hotel room, identify that space before the appointment begins. At home, tell anyone sharing the property when you need the room left alone.
You do not need to justify wanting a closed door, a covering or a different changing arrangement. See hotel room setup for the practical access questions.
Is it rude to ask for quiet?
No lengthy explanation is needed: “I’d prefer a quiet session, but please check in when you need to.” If you need to stay reachable, mention that before putting your phone aside.
Keep essential requests clear. You can ask for lighter pressure, a pause or an area to be avoided even if you have already requested quiet. If the therapist does not understand, stop and clarify before continuing.
What about photographs?
Ask before photographing or recording anyone. Do not assume that a provider’s public profile gives you permission to photograph the visiting therapist in your room. Equally, you can refuse photographs of yourself or your home.
Do you have to tip or buy extras?
If tipping is unclear, ask the provider how it handles it. Do not confuse a tip with a charge already included in your quote. This article does not prescribe a standard KL tipping percentage.
You can decline an extra product, longer session or package with “No, thank you; I’ll keep the appointment as agreed.” Resolve any unexplained charge against your written confirmation. For the price details, use the quote comparison guide.
